It’s even more exciting when these new faces have the potential to become the next generation’s superstars. It tends to feel like you’re seeing them grow as if you’re watching their journey towards reaching their dreams.
Even though going to the movie theaters has gotten quite expensive in recent years (read more here about that), it is still a unique and magical experience to watch the latest releases on the large IMAX screens in the loungers and eating freshly-popped butter popcorn.
Who are the most buzzed-about rising film stars today, you might be wondering? Here are some that you might just continue to see in the years to come:
1. Brie Larson
Brie Larson is not exactly a fresh face but her breakout role in the blockbuster hit Captain Marvel still definitely gives her a rising star badge. She already starred in more than 60 TV shows and movies so she’s pretty much a veteran. Even if she has already even won an Oscar, Golden Globe, SAG, and a British Academy Film Award from her performance in Room, we’re still counting her here because lots of people are still looking forward to seeing more of her.
What’s even more exciting about Brie is that she does a wide range of different types of films. She’s even a filmmaker herself so we’ll really see lots more of her in the future. It was announced that she’ll also be in Captain Marvel II, so we’re very excited about that.

The fact that Yara Shahidi scored her very own spin-off show, Grown-ish, from her stellar performance in Black-ish, says a whole lot about this young actress’ star power. Her talent doesn’t really come as a surprise since she came from a family of artists and creatives. But what blows a lot of people away more about Shahidi is that she’s passionate not just about acting.
Aside from her impressive rise to fame, she also got herself into Harvard University and heads the Eighteenx18 campaign that works on encouraging young people to vote and participate in politics.
