Nintendo was and it still is a synonym for gaming. This company has been making superb gaming consoles and games for many decades. So, which ones are our favorites? Continue reading and you will find out. We played all of these games and in fact play most of them today. They are our favorites because they are thrilling to play, come with amazing features and overall, they are interesting.
1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a stunning game with amazing features. It is stunning simply because there is no limitation of any kind. You start from the beginning and if you want to fight the last boss, you can. If you want to climb a mountain, you can. What this means is that an open world is completely free to roam, explore and play as you like. The game itself has a nice but not too deep story and it is fun to play for ages. A well-known fact is that a player who starts playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will play it for weeks, period!
2. Super Mario 3D World
Super Mario 3D World is the most popular and the most appealing Mario 3D game ever. The short levels and countless features inside the game are the main reasons for our claim. Levels also make gaming more direct and more fun, simply said. You will adore the fast-paced gameplay and you will like even more the ability to deploy various tools and capabilities all used to complete the level as quickly as possible. We would like to see this game on Nintendo Switch any time soon and hope that will be the case.
This is an old game. It was released in the 80s and it was so simple that it became an addiction. A player basically has to press one button. Yes, it is a fire button and from there, everything is possible. You would move faster than ever before and you would control various possibilities and features of the game instantly. The game was able to give you a sense of power as long as you played it. This is possible thanks to the now famous Konami code which was seen in several other games. In addition, you have massive amounts of ammunition and 30 lives to complete the missions.
4. Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest
We liked the Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest for its complexity. Honestly, this is one of the hardest games ever and it is impossible to complete with some sort of a guide. But, this complexity makes it fun and not something you can complete within minutes. You will need days, weeks to complete a level, so you can get an idea. This was the first game ever to offer day and night cycle.
5. Mario Kart 64
Mario Kart 64 was released in 1996 for Nintendo N64 and was game breaking development. It allowed players to enjoy all sorts of tracks while racing with the favorite characters from Mario franchise. It certainly isn’t the most advanced and the most popular game today, but it is one we all like and we played at some point. The game features different tracks and different karts.
6. Metal Gear
Metal Gear is an obsolete game in so many ways. It has simple and ordinary graphics and it has a simple story. But, the game is responsible for having modern titles as we have today! It allowed players to infiltrate into enemy base without being seen. If you are seen, you will be chased by countless guards. Luckily it is simple to escape them. The game offers various weapons and interesting 2D design. You can download Nintendo games from Gamulator.com for free.
Gradius is a game like the ones, you can play on your smartphone today. A player gets one ship and many levels to destroy everything present. But, all of these were extremely popular in the 80s and 90s. The game allowed you to pick a ship (called Vic Viper) of different capabilities. Basically, you could choose between weaker but faster and slower but more resilient ship. Furthermore, a player was able to enhance and improve his ship as long as needed to get massive power and speed. This game has no story by the way.
8. Duck Hunt
You may have never played Duck Hunt but you probably played a game or two with the same design, story and etc. Your mission is to kill as many ducks as possible per round. There is a dog, there is tall grass and you as a hunter. Ducks will start flying when chased by the dog and you have to shot them. Keep in mind that this game requires NES Zapper Gun. The next best thing is the fact the dog would laugh at you if you miss it.
Here we have a series rather than a single game. It is irrelevant which one do you choose. All sequels have the same plot. You are a trainer and you must capture Pokemons, train them and defeat others. You have a whole world to explore and you have unlimited abilities. All of this started with Game Boy back in 1998, so we will use the first sequel as the best of the best.
10. GoldenEye 007
GoldenEye 007 was released in 1995 for Nintendo N64. It is completely based on the James Bond movie, GoldenEye and it has the same features. What this means is that a player is a secret agent and he or she must infiltrate various facilities, destroy the enemy’s weapons and bring down the bad guys. But, the game is loaded with weapons and missions which make it one of the stunning creations of all times.
These 10 games are obsolete but they have sentimental value that makes them compare and beat modern, high-end games. We had a great time playing them in 2023 and we will continue to play all of these titles as long as possible.
