Late flowers of California Brickellbush (Brickellia Californica)

The flowers of California Brickellbush (Brickellia Californica in the Asteraceae plant family) usually don't look like much, but they're getting a boost from our early rain a month ago. Any flowers are scarce in the woods now, but I can't recall ever seeing insects visiting these late-season flowers. They are kind of pretty. (Paradise, Santa Ynez River, 10 November 2009)
