Late-season flower of Small Wirelettuce (Stephanomeria exigua)

11/9/09
Here is a beautiful late-season flower of (I think) native Small Wirelettuce (Stephanomeria exigua) in the Sunflower (Asteraceae) plant family. It may be the Tall Stephanomeria ( S. virgata), but judging by its stature - only a foot tall - it is S. exigua. The flowers start blue like this in the morning, but end up white and fading by early afternoon. The tiny stamens and pistils are beautiful. (San Marcos Pass, 8 November 2009)

That is a beautiful flower and well captured. The little green iguana was brought along by one of the local youngsters and this variety is rarely seen here due to poaching. They are usually wary of larger animals and for good reasons.

And the local poachers are all wary of me.

The plesuare it's all mine. Look to the amazing world that you brings to us. A really nice work about a lover of nature.Have nice photos:)
Regards from Brazil.
