Robust plant of Weed's Mariposa Lily (Calochortus fimbriata)

My photos are usually framed so close that you can't really tell what a plant looks like or where it growing. Mea culpa, it's got to do with the 500 pixel limit on Fotolog photos.
Here's a wider shot of an unusually robust plant of Weed's Mariposa Lily (Calochortus weedii var. vestus) - now renamed as C. fimbriata - in the Lily (Lilium) family. (San Marcos Pass, 14 July 2009)
This is the same plant I've been featuring close-up in my [Previous] photos. I reckon it's so robust because it's growing in a place that burned last summer in the Gap Fire - ashes make good fertilizer. You can see many flowers, and also some seed pods.
