This "blue" is brown!
I guess this is a female Acmon Blue (Plebejus acmon) butterfly working a flower of native Black Sage (Salvia mellifera) in the Mint (Labiatae) family. The "host plants" of these butterflies for the larvae are legumes and buckwheats, but the adults like the sages. (San Marcos Pass, 10 May 2008)
