Bruno Pays For A Gorgeous Date
Old habits are tough to break. Just ask Bonanno soldier Anthony (Bruno) Indelicato.
Three weeks ago, a federal probation officer phoned Indelicato and asked him how long it had been since he had seen his “friend Vinny,” a reference to family capo Vincent (Vinny Gorgeous) Basciano.
Indelicato, who served 13 years for blasting his way into mob history in the storied execution of cigar-chomping Carmine (Lilo) Galante in 1979, knew this was a trick question. The last time Bruno was caught meeting Basciano – the summer of 2001 – he got another eight months in prison for violating his parole restrictions.
“I haven’t seen him in years,” replied Indelicato quickly. “What do you think I’m crazy? I’m not going to do anything to screw up my parole.”
Two hours later, federal probation and parole officials camped out at the corner of Vincent and Lafayette Avenues in the East Baychester section of The Bronx, and waited. It’s the same corner where FBI agents had spotted Indelicato meeting Basciano a few times four years ago, about half a mile from Basciano’s home.
