Pilgrim litter?

Even on the Islas Cíes, a natural wildlife preserve, one discovers traces of pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela. Did they swim over from Finisterre? This chimney, with the image of the pilgrim's shell engraved on it, looks like a good place to burn one's boots or any other pilgrim litter. But I would have preferred it not to be there at all, spoiling the pristine beauty of the place.

Después de hacer el camino de Santiago, hay que tener ganas de seguir hasta las Islas Cíes para quemar las botas... Yo creo que de Santiago me volvería a casa!!!
