Movimento criado devido a um acontecimento que assombra o mundo actual que nos acolhe dia-a-dia: a caça às focas. O objectivo: alertar as pessoas sobre este crime, procurando sensibilizar e elucidar sobre o que se passa realmente no Canadá. Esta página foi criada precisamente para esse alerta: a caça às focas. O Canadá legalizou a caça às focas entre o mês de Março e Abril, quando as focas vão para o Alasca reproduzirem-se. No primeiro dia oficial da caça às focas, cerca de 250.000 crias (SOMENTE AS CRIAS) foram brutalmente assassinadas. Prevê-se que o governo canadiano permita o abate de mais focas, passando de 250.000 para 300.000. No entanto, esta lei não é controlada e este número ultrapassa a realidade: mais de 325.000 focas são ao longo desta época, abatidas de uma forma cruel (desde pauladas a serem esfoladas vivas!) Vários gritos de protesto foram abafados por argumentos falaciosos vindos da política canadiana, como a desculpa de que as focas têm de ser abatidas devido à diminuição de peixe no mercado por culpa desses animais. Comprova-se que este argumento é falso, pois, não é a quantidade de peixe que está a diminuir por causa das focas: é sim, o crescimento da população e o aumento da poluição. E tu, pretendes ficar-te pelo silêncio? Não te cales e protesta contra este crime!

Movement created against an event that haunts this current world in which we live day-by-day: the seal hunt. The organization - Silenced Scream – exists with the objective of alerting people about this crime, looking to sensitize and clarify on what it is really happening in Canada. This page was created necessarily and solely for this one purpose: the seal hunt. Canada legalized the seal hunt between the months of March and April, when seals go to Alaska to reproduce. In the first official hunting day, about 250.000 baby seals (ONLY BABY SEALS) where brutally assassinated. It is foreseen that the Canadian government will allow a growth in the seal hunt, extended from 250.000 to 300.000. However, these laws are not regulated and these numbers exceed the reality: more than 325,000 seals are, throughout this season hunted down in the cruelest ways (clubbed to death and skinned alive…). Some shouts of protest had been muffled with fallacious arguments from the Canadian government, using the excuse that seals have to be hunted due to the lack of fish in the fish markets, blaming these animals. One proves that this argument is false, therefore, is not the amount of fish that has been diminishing because of seals: it is the growth of population and the increase of pollution. What about you? Will you stand for silence? Let us hear your voice and protest against this crime!
