Corona de adviento / Adventskranz / Advent wreath

Se denomina corona de adviento a un adorno hecho con ramas de abeto o pino, con cuatro velas, que es colgada o bien colocada sobre una mesa durante el tiempo de adviento. Se enciende una de las cuatro velas cada domingo de los cuatro que dura el Adviento, para indicar el camino que se recorre hasta la Navidad. La tradición sitúa su origen en el norte de Europa.

Der Adventskranz, österreichisch Adventkranz, ist ein meist aus Tannenzweigen geflochtener Tisch- oder Hängeschmuck im Advent, der in Form eines Kranzes mit vier Kerzen, den Adventskerzen, und unter Umständen mit Gesteckelementen besetzt ist. Diese werden im Laufe der Adventszeit nacheinander entzündet: Ab dem 1. Advent wird eine Kerze angezündet, ab dem 2. Advent sind es zwei und so weiter.

Advent wreaths are a tradition used by Christians to mark the passage of the 4 weeks of Advent. Its usual form is of a horizontal evergreen wreath holding four candles. Starting during the first week of Advent, a candle is lit while prayers are said. An additional candle is lit during each of the following weeks until all four candles are lit during the last week before Christmas. Advent wreaths are used in both private, family services and at church services.

Hi! I haven't passed by here for a long time. Christmas in Germany will be beuatiful, I know. I spent Christmas there 4 years ago (near Koln) and enjoyed it very much. Creo que nos posteamos siempre en espanol, ahora que me doy cuenta . . .
