Does anyone know who runs flickr - you were such a gracious supporter of fotolog and they let you down - its shameful - I am in the process of moving to flickr. I e-mailed them as to a monthly payment option and they said once they are out of beta they will have a monthly payment amount, thank goodness, me broke. I am there, as you know, and my name there is "Buddhas Elf".

Flickr fordert mehr Englisch(amerikanisch)-Kenntnisse von mir! Ich stolpere mich da so durch, zumal ich gewohnt bin das Inselenglisch zu sprechen.... Aber ich versuch`s.... Trotzdem ist es wie Heimat aufgeben, dem Flog ganz den Rücken zuzuwenden.... Aber andererseits sollten die einfach auch begreifen, dass sie ein paar Dinge ändern müssten!

Tasty. As I said in another email, I want to be part of sponsering, participating, etc. If I am participating. I want to support a good idea, and a good product. I did last year for about 6 months.
During those 6 months there was tremendous growth here. Certainly a sign of success. Success comes with a price. Here the price became sluggish servers due to traffic, GC members couldn`t get access, uploading failed often, when loading a pagr either photo wouldn`t load or comments wouldn`t load...etc... Enough to take away from the enjoyement. I became frustrated and aggravated everytime I wanted to contibute.
This situation has improved some. True to my promise I have started contributions again, unfortunately, after 1 week, I still find the comment that my guest book is full and GC members get 100 comments, Yet I am once again a member. No comments appear.
The cost of the servers VS the contributing members, need better control. Perhaps a different URL and set of servers for the GC members. Move the account once a member contributes. More maintenance yes. But happier campers too.

Finally was born!
I`ve watched your input; great photos, great participation. I started losing interest last spring after 6 months of sponsering. The situation was worse.
I turned my funds into my own server, less attention on Photos more on Web devellopment.
Still, Fotolog is a great product with a lack of admin I believe. There should be a cure for GC`s.

It always takes me a long time to get used to a new place

As soon as I learn my way around Flickr, I will be canceling my gold camera

I even got cable modem thinking that would help to navigate fotolog, but that was a waste of money

even cable modem cannot open a page that is screwed up, which most of fotolog is now, it seems

I have a flickr account but I find it too confusing. Too many features, and finding the feature you need can take a half dozen clicks. I`m happier with fotothing.

Flickr is only confusing until you really try it, Jef. The admins over there listen to all our sugestions and react extremely fast - unheard of in Fotolog!

Maybe you should check it out again, it`s changed a lot. Your features are accessable from the bottom of every single page now :)

But I agree, Fotothing is not bad either. Again: it`s run by someone who listens and reacts. What more does one want?

Sure, Fotolog was good for a while. But Flickr is *MUCH* better in so many ways! Once you get used to it, you won`t turn back anymore - and close to 500 of the best Fotologgers can tell you the same.

I discovered RSS feeds (no more missing comments!), groups that actually don`t have porn in them on a regular base, I can organize my pictures the way I like them, I can assemble favorite pics of other people, I see exactly how many people visited each and every one of my pictures, I can backtrack my comments, I can send private messages, discuss, chat, comment without any failure at all - in short, I am completely happy with my new cyberhome!

I`m afraid you won`t even see this message, unless you come back over here and check. Oh my, I just now noticed how much easier my life became in the last 2 month. And in a way I am thankful that Fololog became such a nuisance - otherwise I would have never experienced how nice and free of frustrations life in cyberspace can be! ;-)
