It was so nice to see this car. I knew De Dion-Bouton only by photos and it gives nice memories about my family.
De Dion Bouton was the first car in Porto Alegre, imported from France in 1906 by my great-uncle Januario Grecco. One of the most interesting about this vehicle is that the only man who could drive in the city was stuck in the house of correction. Through a formal request, uncle Januario claimed responsibility for the prisoner and managed to release the detainee. The prisoner drove the car to the center of the capital and he taught uncle Januario how to drive "De Dion Bouton". Shortly after it the prisoner returned to jail.
