5th Year Anniversary as Head of Community at Fotolog.com

Five years ago, on a sunny June Monday, I headed to the Upper East Side to start my job as "Director Member Services" for Fotolog's community, back then less than 400,000 members strong.

Today, our office is located near Union Square area, still in New York, and we're soon welcoming our 26th million member account!

Boah! These are quite some numbers, aren't they?

Five years. One of my least favorite interview questions is "Where do you see yourself in five years" and interestingly enough, Adam never asked that dreaded question! Thanks /cypher! :) While I would have hoped to still be with Fotolog, I would not have known how to answer this question, having never been in a job for longer than 2 or 3 years.

But, as everybody knows who's working for Fotolog, it's not your everyday job. It's a commitment, especially when you're dealing with people.

And people, and their photos and their stories never stop to amaze me! This goes both ways actually. There's very much light but also some darkness every now and then! Overall though, it's cool.

Along the way, over the years, I've met a lot of people and became good friends with a few. I decided to not name them all here, if alone out of fear to miss somebody and to really hurt somebody's feelings. Most of them are in my F/Fs anyway. And, since I know YOU KNOW who you are, thank you for your friendship and dedication. Thank you for continuing to enjoy Fotolog and if there's anything I can do for you, let me know, and I'll give it a try.
