Off-Putting
Sometimes, rainy days add a moody silence to people in the streets. The telltale saddening look on their faces speaks it out for them. How irreverent the raindrops are towards the authority of man in calling the shots on earth by raining out the plans we may have in mind! The ability of rain to scrap our schedules is a feature distinctly off-putting to us.
If a rainy day were the diplomat from heavens, it might have been declared persona non grata.
On sultry days, however, a day or two of raining is usually much welcomed. The unequivocal relief shown on people's faces is the edvience. When the rain is gone, so will the heat.
When bad things happen, people cry, better with tears than not. Teardrops can bring away the worry, fear and self-distrust that batter the heart and turn the spirit back to dust. When the teardrops are gone, so will the pressure.
At least for the moment. But a break for a moment is just what we all wil need in sadness, isn't it?
