Knitting, sleeping, and the eternal darkness
11/9/09
So for the last couple of days, I've been on a vacation of sorts. I took the time off and decided to go down and visit one of my best friends in the world. This entailed a relatively short train ride (5 hours) and has been utterly worth every minute/dime/iota of effort.
Friday involved checking out her workplace, heading home, and going out to dinner for really awesome Thai food. I was then introduced to Chuck, the TV show, which is lots of fun and I'll have to check it out more. Saturday had a lovely trip to a yarn store where I picked up both a lovely beautiful green yarn and this awesome, strangely soft blue and black yarn that I can't wait to use. Then there were Xbox 360 games, the DeathNote liveaction movie (I liked!), and an evening discussing Dissidia, Dragon Age: Origins, and playing Eternal Darkness before everyone fell asleep and we had to head back to Matt and Leigh Ann's.
Sunday was veg day with lots of watching and knitting and winding yarn into balls etc. So much knitting. I'm almost done with the scarf I started on the way down. What's pictured, though, is a testament to my friend's awesomeness: her sock drawer full of socks she knit herself. She's about a million times more the knitter than I am (she does it more, it's more of her hobby, she's more involved) and I thought it was so neat. And rainbow coordinated. She also managed to help me figure out what I was doing wrong with my stitch markers so I can start that shawl I've been wanting to do. *is excited* That's after the scarf of a million years of stockinette, though.
Anyway, heading back tomorrow even if I'm a little sad to be leaving. I'll miss her and the group down here. But I'm sure to be back and hopefully soon.
Train tomorrow. Must see if there's a pattern I can work on to use up the last of that same color yarn. Maybe matching wrist warmers?
I want Wrist warmer for my cousin, but the dollar is expensive haha
