Monastery at Lluc, Mallorca

7/6/09
An internal courtyard.
The main building and church were open to the public to wander through. Downstairs there are the cells of the main officials (which had their doors closed) and a few other rooms and upstairs there is a museum and other rooms. The toilets were in the basement. I didn't get to explore much as with any group of 4 people they all have their own pace and interests and I was trying to keep an eye on both my parents and my husband who, of course, all went in different directions. Mum went to the museum, Dad to the gardens and husband to the cafe :-)

Woke late to a damp morning, so haven't done a lot. Vegeman has started digging a hole for a pond so the tadpoles that I rescued will have a proper home, especially as several now have legs though they aren't ready to hop yet. Jim cat is in and out (and in and out and in ...) and every time I sit Lily is on my knee.

Have a good week.

Kathy and I resort to our cellphones when we go shopping, otherwise we'd never find one another later on!
Happy trails...Chris

Hi!!! Now I have sometime to visit my F/F. I like the building very much. hope you have a great day. Kiss:)))

looks like peaceful place....

Es de lo mejor y más duradero, sin duda alguna.

It looks neat and tidy now.Lots to see in there and Igiess it is not a working one any more.

Thanks! Other than the initial shock, it wasn't too bad. My insurance company actually took pretty good care of me. But I wish I lived in a safer place...

Padre y madre cantantes...

Preciosa la foto y el monasterio.

Un gran abrazo¡¡

Una maravilla de patio, y la foto muy buena

A very interesting image and use of shadows; very interesting. Your narrative also added well to the image.
Thanks.
Have a great evening.

Yes, taking a holiday with three other independently-minded adults can be difficult. A bit like trying to get Laurel and Hardy dressed.

Hi Patsy!

I prefer visiting things on my own for the reasons you mention (and it's not that I'm that anti-social...!!!).
So, is the pond dug yet? Your tadpoles will be very happy.
I had a nice weekend - on Friday night I went to the Getxo Jazz festival for the first time to see pianist Michel Camilo - excellent. On Saturday, I went to Santander to visit my friend and we ended up in Ramales de la Victoria, where there is a great cave to visit. Tomorrow we're off to the Rioja to stock up!
Hope the translation is going well - give my love to A if you see her.
Lots of love,
Maureen. xx

Beautiful building and the half line of shadow sets it off nicely. So did the cafe do monastical-themed treats? Monk muffins? Cistercian Cookies? Pope-a-cino coffees?
