Always such nice photos ! The columns have dealt with quiet a lot of water the marks of which still cling to the pillar.
I think there in venice they are having quiet a lot of problems
But then again it is unique in the world

This is a wonderful shot, Margit! When we see things in detail, we see what otherwise is barely noticed, like these beautiful forms and textures.

Wonderful light and texture...to repeat, and reinforce, what's been said. I believe the Lincoln Memorial has 36 columns, to symbolize the then-36 states of the Union. All holding up the roof of a house no longer divided. Interesting lesson for the USA and Germany, too!

I am back from Thailand, Laos and Cambodia.

Oh, wie schön hast Du diese "Füsse" fotografiert. Musste ich auf einmal an Korfu Stadt denken.......
Ein Fotobuch kannst Du ja via Internet zusammenstellen und machen lassen. Würde ich machen, wenn ICH solche excellente Bilder geschossen hatte in Venedig.

Moin Margit...DAS ist es doch: mit beiden "Füssen" sicher auf dem Boden stehen! Morgen um diese Zeit hat ich wohl alles schon hinter mir und hoffe auf eine schnelle und nachhaltige Wiedererlangung meiner kompletten Lebensqualität auf den Tennisplätzen, Tanzböden und Bürostühlen!
Der Geburtstagsstrauß war übrigens meiner....dafür hat mein Mann immer ine gutes Händchen.Dany

Nice picture Margit. I like the look of the weathered columns against the fairly smooth floor. Thanks for your comments. The colorful time of fall is ending but winter is still a long ways away (by the calendar). I look for other photo opportunities. Something to work at. maybe b&w. We'll see.

schön das Licht und der Marmor. Die Kraft der Säulen kommt gerade in diesem Detail für mich sehr gut 'raus !

Heute ist es mit 16 Grad kalt geworden, gestern waren die Temperaturen noch über 20.

Bill was the lead guitarist for Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen "back in the day." I believe Bill and one of the Cody band members actually wrote the song, which has been covered by Jerry Lee Lewis and a number of other more luminous stars. In any case, Bill's had his own bands in the DC area for many years, and is originally from Michigan, where he studied at the The Interlochen Arts Academy.

He's a nice guy, too.

Margit, totally amazing photo of these acient columns. How old are these Temples? Of course as you know, we have many buildings in the USA that emulate this style, some of which are right here in the Philadelphia, PA area.

Guten Morgen liebe Margit!

Deine Fotos haben mich gerade mal dazu bewogen meine Rombilder anzusehen. Ich bin so froh das ich meinen Laptop und damit alle meine Erinnerungen dabei habe!
Heute kommt Hubert mit den Mädels und seiner Mutter. Ich freu mich schon! Bernhard hat mir gerade eine MMS mit seinen neuen Schuhen geschickt. Er ist ganz stolz! WENN er sich was gönnt, muss es was gutes sein ;)
