Hello Margit, such a pretty scene. I like the pale colors of the buildings. I also like all the water and boats. Certainly unique even amongst the other 'canal cities' of the world. I'm glad to live in a place which has active canals.

My mother is still in the nursing home and it's likely she will remain there. She does well and her spirits are good but she has too much confusion to be on her own. I do think she should be able to leave the nursing home to spend time (at least during the day) with the family over the holidays. The holidays are coming soon now.

Diese Gondeln sehen ja schon wintermäßig verpackt aus.
gibt es nicht mehr so viele Touris?

ist heute die ganze Familie bei Euch zum kaffee oder geht Ihr aushäusig feiern?
Ich bin hier auch am backen und kochen.
Habe gerade beschlossen NIE wieder back ich ne Käsetorte. Erst mußte ich sie doppelt so lange im Ofen haben, bis sie gar war. Dann ist sie schon fast schwarz rundrum und zu guter letzt geht der Rand lo, als ich sie aus dem Ofen holen will und die Hälfte fällt raus. Da kommt Freude auf! Ich bleib bei den torten, die ich kann. Käsetorte gehört ganz bestimmt nicht dazu!

Classical venice, but you have chosen the chilly days before winter comes on,
Its getting better now , one can stay at home and stay longer on the p c, but it was terrible with the heat to sit for a long time . But what weather, storms and rain here.

Margit, thanks for your comments. I always appreciate them and regard them highly. I had about 35 children come to my home for Trick-Or-Treat as we used to call it back in the day. We had fun with the whole thing. I see it is being celebrated in some variations in other parts of the world now.

The Fireman Brothers were great. It was neat to see the older brother put his arm around his little brother; without being told to by his parents; it was just spontaneous. It was obvious to see the bond between them.

I like your photo of the Marina, very much like the one Eberhard posted not that long ago, from his Holiday. It looks as though the boaters may be preparing for something as they have their motors covered for protection. I really like boats and waterfront area's and of course the beach.

And your right the time is slipping away. I am preparing as I go, and also taking care of many personal matters. Before I know it, the day will be here. Honestly I am not sure of some things, and disappointed by others, but I suppose that is normal.

Moin Margit....und alles "winterfein" verpackt? Bei uns verbringen die Yachtbesitzer der 1. Reihe am See die Boote richtig in die Winterquartiere, da ist nix mit aufm kalten Eiswasser weiterdümpeln.
So, so, Du hast also einen männlichen Skorpion daheim....ich stelle immer wieder erstaunt fest, daß ich in den letzten Jahren fast auch nur noch Widder, Fische oder Skorpione näher kennenlerne. Vermutlich sind meine Antenne und Macken inzwischen so ausgerichtet und es sind auch meist Frauen.
Was unser heutige Skorpion-Geburtstagskind aus T. angeht, bin ich aber guter Dinge, daß sich die Tische unter den Kuchen und Torten biegen und wir den Käsetortenhorrortrip gar nicht bemerken werden!

yes, margit... i truly enjoyed everything... it's a great city!
i had long walks into the yellow of theseason, so many trees, for a city... and all disguised for the last dance :) moreover breathing history, looking at the flow of continuous changement, everything jsut perfect. and a nice rock concert as well!
i also met kasumi, and it was truly a nice meet!! :)
