R.I.P. Lady Jayne... 2 years on... emotions still fresh...
10/16/09
Even though it has now been 2 years since we put Lady down, my emotions on the subject are still very raw so I don't really know what to say so I'll just quote what I wrote the day she passed on.
They had to muzzle her as she went to bite the assistant as she was touching around her legs and feet. It was an overdose of something [forgot what they said] and she would just relax at first then the overdose would kick in and she would just relax herself to sleep. I gave her, what would be, my last kiss while she was alive – I didn’t want her to go but it would be selfish to keep her alive... After she relaxed herself the assistant took off the muzzle and let me hold her. She said hold her head close to my chest so she could hear my heartbeat as she went. As she relaxed, I held her and about 5 seconds after I took her; she died in my arms...
Alone In The Night...
Our dog is blue,
Pale with the flu.
Usually she is bright,
Alone in the night. . . .
Talking, barking--never sleeping,
Always upstairs--eating, drinking,
Tip-tap on the floor,
Hear a scratching at the door. . . .
If you're not looking,
You might get a fright.
She is only a dog,
Alone in the night. . . .
*hugs*
