PROYECTO EDIFICIOS ABANDONADOS

Esta serie de fotografías centra la atención en diferentes edificios religiosos de la región del Mar Negro, este de Turquía: el Monasterio ortodoxo de Sumela (Trabzon), y las iglesias georgianas de Barhal, Dörtkilise e Ishan (en los alrededores de Yusufeli).

Transformaciones arquitectónicas realizadas en el pasado para adecuar los edificios a los diferentes usos que han tenido, marcas y grafittis realizados por particularespara perpetuar la memoria. Todo ello asociado con las relaciones, no siempre pacíficas, entre las dos religiones desarrolladas en esa zona: Islam y Cristianismo.



ABANDONNED BUILDINGS PROJECT

This series of photography focus the attention in different religious buildings located in the Black Sea region, east Turkey: Sumela Monastery (Trabzon), and the Georgians churches of Barhal, Dörtkilise and Ishan (in the surrounding area of Yusufeli).

Architectural transformations carried out in the past to adapt the buildings to the different uses they have had, marks and grafittis made by individuals to perpetuate the memory. All associated to the relations, not always peaceful between the two main religions developed in the region: Islam and Christianity.
