you can mess around with your grapics card.
What I did to make there faces clear again. Because I had that same problem.
Noooooooo! So sad =( It happened to me once and I got so pissed because I had to re-install all the CC again!

I'm passing here to divulge fotolog that I am creating. I intend to tranform it in a group, so everybody who love The Sims as we, will can congregate and divulge its photos. To this is necessary that they visit and comment in fotolog, and if will be able to help me to divulge it, would be very happy.
