Another stunning macro of the Alaska flowers. You need a fast lens to catch flowers in bloom up there!

By contrast, the Rainier glacier is a river of ice (eh, glaciergirl!), so it might _just_ flow right off...but in sloooooowwwwww moooootiooooon!

Enjoy the 4th. I went to see "Public Enemies" instead of the fireworks tonight. Well, plenty of fireworks on screen. Slick film, good music and good acting (esp. Johnny Depp and Marion Cotillard), signifying, well, not all that much.

Thanks for your comments. There are some good steam trail excusions coming up later in the year and I may plan to take one of them. I did take a short ride on the day I visited. Even that was fun.
