Was bleibt
11/10/09Today we celebrated 20 Jahre Mauerfall. We also remembered Kristallnacht 1938. And to link those events, and look ahead to what's to come, a large group of people in my town walked from church to synagogue to mosque together, and assembled in the city park at the place where a plaque cites the first article of the Dutch constitution. There was a group of young Turkish dancers, and a Jiddische two-man-band who call themselves Zwej Bryder. There was our good old socialist choir, and they sang the above song. Then when I walked home I knew the soaring feeling wouldn't last. And that's when I thought of the kite in my picture.

You certainly get discouraged when you read the papers every day, but knowing that there are people still meeting for such causes, you recover hope.

Must be a very peculiar taste, this "in a hurry" one... i'll have to try one morning or the other and let you know... actually in the morning i am always late so i have to drink "haste coffee"... i will see if the tea tastes better ;)

Ah, i forgot! I truly think that everything is useful. I always try to improve. To find a way. One year after the other. No matter if there are "concrete results". I know it worths.
dank gd, voor je uitleg, ik voel me altijd een beetje dom wanneer ik iets niet (meteen) snap, maar ik hoef natuurlijk niet altijd in andermans hoofden te kunnen kijken. De vlieger leent zich inderdaad voor allerlei filosofietjes, kan mooi symbool zijn, ook wel een beetje treurig, zo van vrijheid, jawel, maar wel vastgehouden door iemand anders. Enfin, laat ik jouw weggetje niet verknallen. groetje
