Black Tickle, Labrador

11/10/09
Black Tickle is a metis community on an island on the southern shore of Labrador. It's not a wealthy community. Being outside the Nunatsiavut Government, it cannot tap into the funding or prosperity which is apparent further up the coast. What it does have though, is a people who are fond of this place.

Good for them. Very like Scottish island communities I suppose.

We (I really mean vegeman) mostly burn wood on the range. We are luckier than the folk of Black Tickle as we have quantities of eucalyptus trees on the patch at the end of our garden. Vegeman cuts it down and then up and makes nice stacks of it to dry out ready for the following winter.

Well, I do not know. I am not familiar with catolic ( ? ) saints.

I found the image on one site about medieval music.

nice village... a small hidden pearl

You know, nobody would ever think that this is a wealthy community; however, I understand, after visiting the other sites on Labrador, it all becomes relative.

Nice story about Grandad :-) Thanks for sharing...

Hello!

It´s a blessing for those people that they
love their home, land and the nature.
So few people do in these days.
They want something behind the fence.

RE: ship of the decert is a perfect name
for a camel - the decert is really wavy
as I show you shortly.
