Black Tickle, Labrador.

11/9/09
Pretty well stogged for the winter. Black Tickle is on an island. Most people heat with oil if they stay here over winter, but they like to heat with wood too. To get in their firewood supplies they have to wait until the sea freezes enought to get inland with a skidoo and toboggan. The closest useable firewood stocks are 40km inland.

Ciao,

i never thought of such a situation... i also have both gas and also a fireplace... but the wood grows here around... living in such an isolation makes everything different.

The isolation is sometimes a blessing and sometimes it´s a burden.
This disarms the people - to live with the laws of nature.

RE: there is much sand in the air nad because of traffic
pollution in the big cities, too!

lots of work to live there I bet

Some interesting aspects about living in an isolated area, not for the meek of heart!
:)
