Surreal things promises an awful lot. Our local newspaper, the Claremont Courier, has surreal English such as this headline: "El Roble's physical stature just got bigger". I read further to see if the building had become taller while I wasn't looking, but no. The school may receive an award...

If Nevil visited Buffalo I'm afraid the prognosis would have been DOA. By 1960, the economy had already taken a hit from the St. Lawrence Seaway and other downsizing. The city, and Niagara Falls, USA, is so provincial (not in the stately way) that it can't see its own potential, only silver bullets like a sporting goods store or casino on the waterfront. Let's try viable transportation first, and restore the commercial base before worrying about anglers and gamblers.
