Goodbye everyone,
this is the last piece i'm uploading. As i said i've barely painted for many months and have nothing to show, the idea was to show a selection of what i've done in recent years. I hope you enjoyed.
Below is a text for whoever wants to know more.
Thanks a lot for the positive feedback..

A quien pueda interesar:

To whom it may concern:
I first used the name Garrulo around 1998. In 2002, after months spent working on paper, i finally started putting this style together. Many drawings after, i think i've exhausted the formula, and haven't sketched for a while now. I've tried to get the main ideas to walls so to contribute them to the culture. I've done a number of pieces more than the ones showed here, but preferred to post only the best ones, the work being experimental means you don't allways come out well.
As a retired writer with ethical issues, i don't piece on very visible spots. That's why the fotolog has been an excellent chance to share my work. The best comments i got in Madrid were like "shit koas, why don't you make a real piece like the ones you used to..." jesus fucking christ ! iŽm working from the heart and taking risks, trying to help move the culture forwards. I got my respect in the subways around year 90. Anyway this respect has only saved me from getting my "punk" and apparently unimportant pieces gone over for no reason, well, i mean most of them. Not many people here can appreciate new stuff. Fotolog audience, though, has been more openminded, even though people not from Madrid don't know about our autoctonous style of the 80's which makes a good part of this style.
During years 83 to 89 approx there was a thriving writers scene in Madrid which hadn't had any contact with the outside world. It was based on logo-tags: pieces were rare and usually just the same tag painted big and outlined. There was no awareness of NY writing scene, nor any interest in trains. Writers were heavys and punks, but mainly just plain guys really, much youth culture didn't exist at the time, as the country had just got out from a 40 year enclosure. Aesthetic references were taken from heavy and punk graphics. I started writing in 86 and was into this scene. NY/european writing only became prominent from year 90 on, when first european magazines arrived and serious trainwriting caught on.
With Garrulo i've tried to bring back that feeling. Of course this is piece-based european writing and owes to the scandinavian way of thinking it. Other influences have been SaoPaulo and specially Rio's own --and quite unknown-- tag style.
