Gerry Pond in Roslyn, New York is a pond in trouble. After Hurricane Sandy, 15,000 cubic yards of seawater sediment remains in the pond. It has choked off the aquatic plants and the wild life of fish; ducks; and song birds.
The Federal government will put $9 million in the pond to bring it back to the ecosystem it was before the 1960's. With a little needed love it will come back.
