And happily so!
I've just had the most amazing weekend in a really long time and the good times seem to continue...
It's funny, how sometimes nothing really exciting is going on for a couple of weeks and then all in a sudden all is cramped in in a couple of days!
The Tribeca Film Festival is in town again. Although I hate - yes, that strong feelings - their ticketing system and their way of doing things, I spent 90 minutes three Saturdays ago to snap the tickets to the movies I truly wanted to see.
And so we went to see THREE KINGDOMS: RESURRECTION OF THE DRAGON on Friday evening with a Q&A of the director and the very lovely heroine MAGGIE Q. She was sweet enough to take pictures with a couple of fans and I shot one of Oliver and her too. Both are smiling very nicely.
On Saturday, we first went to an exhibit opening down at the South Street Seaport, where the photographer BARBARA MENSCH is showing her fishmarket photos that she made during the 80ies. Awesome pictures - I surely will see them again since the exhibit lasts until January 2009.
Then, we quickly jumped into a taxi and went up near Union Square to see the World Premiere of the Erica Dunton movie THE 27 CLUB starring JOE ANDERSON. Before the movie started, out at the street, Joe was sweet enough to pose for pictures with fans and the result you see above. He was incredibly kind and friendly. And I absolutely LOVED the movie. On Sunday then, Oliver and I had tickets to the premiere of a play directed by MIKE NICHOLS: The Country Girl. Since it was opening night, the audience was filled with some stars like Julia Roberts, Amy Adams, Natalie Portman, Dennis Lerry. We had 2nd row seats in the orchestra section and could dig the atmosphere fully in. We enjoyed the play a lot even though the New York Times critic didn't.
Tonight I am off to do something more nostalgic, I am up to see THE VERVE.

They both look like friendly people. I found your flog through a blog comment you made when Hi-Media took over - about having seen Fotolog grow so much in your three years there. I guess this site is a little, or big, part of so many different peoples' lives. I guess it must be cool to work at.
And it's interesting, these comments above - they remind me a bit of those desperate letters petitioning the governor for clemency or an official pardon. Do you ever go check them out and magically restore their flogs?
And finally, I like your last six photos. They made me feel like I was in New York... a world away from sunny Sydney, down under.

I arrived home on monday and my fotolog was deactivated by you with no reason. The picture uploaded didn't show: nudity, drugs, sex, violence, racism or any of the things forbidden!!!

Dear Elkita, greetings from Sin City. I've been a little busier than usual too :) but losing touch with a friend from Mexico, that's the not so good part of it. Anyway, I'm sure they have film festivals in Vegas but I "haven't had" the chance to catch them or anything, I should be smart and try to find'em, cause I may see some stars like u did. Sorry but my fotolog www.fotolog.com/luismol, that I used as a movies/comic/videogame commentary magazine, was closed without warning, probably because a picture of the Peter Jackson's "Bad Taste" movie.
I don't want to hire all my friends and visitors (wich are a good number of) to come here and sing "Please, reopen luismol's fotolog" as I usually saw that happened with other cases like this one: but please, I tell you if you are so kind to reopen it, maybe eliminating the "conflictive" picture. Anywas, can't you in this cases only delete the picture? I'm not a conflictive user, my fotolog is a culture magazine as I sayed.

Elke ! How are you? Well, WHAT A EXCITING weekend! OMG! My weekend was pretty funny too, I mean, it was a short holiday, which includes Thursday & Friday without school or something like that ! On Friday I went to the cinema, and I watched "Bratz", it was funny and like a bit girly, but i enjoyed watching it a lot ! I mean, i am almost 16 years old, but i have a younger sister so i often watch that kind of movies ! Well, going back to the movie critic, it was like The Cheetah Girls with a bad girl, who took after Sharpay Evans (from HSM) a lot!
