What's the Verdict?

In my last posting I asked you whether you watched more movies or been to more concerts and the majority watched movies or went dancing! I also learned that many of you enjoy watching a movie at home with friends and family. Actually, that's something I love too.

I recently watched a couple of movies with Oliver on DVD. It's getting cold and we stay at home a bit more again. So, what did we see?

- HOAX with RICHARD GERE - didn't like it too much to be honest. It's quite a weird movie...

- THE LIVES OF OTHERS - a German movie that won this year's Oscar for Foreign movies. Pretty good movie, absolutely worth watching. I didn't know anything about East Germany and this movie is very well researched. Highly recommended.

- AMAZING GRACE with IOAN GRUFFUDD - very interesting and historically relevant. A tid bit complicated at times. but then again, it's with Ioan Gruffudd!!!

- RATATOILLE - who did NOT love this movie? Well, I had to overcome the fact that rats play a leading role but after that, all was quite enjoyable.

I also went to the movies, twice last week. I watched AUGUST RUSH which is one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. But wait - I've seen a worse one, but I'll come to that in a moment... So, August Rush, not even JOHNATHAN RHYS MEYERS can help this crappy screenplay. The sound is great, and New York is depicted well but that's about it.

The worse movie I've seen was on Thanksgiving at our friend's house. We watched HAPPY FEET. OMG - where was the story? Where were the characters? Why was everybody so ugly? Why do penguins sing? Or dance? Pardonnez moi - did not get that one.

And then, finally a movie I truly loved! On Saturday, as a special Holiday Weekend Treat, Oliver and I went to see ENCHANTED. What a sweet, funny movie! Yes, it's entertaining and funny. The ending is a bit over the top but it doesn't matter. It's just a great, great romantic feel good movie.

With the Holiday Season almost in full swing, what's YOUR FAVORITE HOLIDAY MOVIE? Do you have one? Let me know please. I'd like to probably discover something new or share some classics with you.

Wow, you spend a lot of time in the cinema... I go to more concerts actually! LAst movies: Rec and Eastern promises (very good one!). (I have always written here to protest for closings, so it was the time to say something else).

Yet returning to /bossni's closing, I don't know what TOS means, I've had a quick look at the Terms of use and haven't found it as well... Copyright issues maybe? Is it possible that all that material is deleted and the fotolog reactivated again? I think there was no obscene or violent material in it...

Ratatoille was one of the best movies I've ever seen and I'm not ashamed to say I cried a few times. Maybe I was feeling sentimental those days but, who cares! It's one of my favorites of all time. Take care Elkita, I want to see that movie, great and loveable actors!

I have a personal fotolog now - it was about time!
Anyway...
The holiday season doesn't start until Christmas - we do have Thanksgiving in our calendars, but most of us don't even know when it is and we don't celebrate it - it's not even a public holiday.
But your holiday season seems like a lot of fun! I love winter, and staying in and watching movies, having a hot chocolate or ordering a pizza... It's so much fun!
I haven't been to the movies in a while - in my city, there's nothing interesting playing...
I did watch Ratatouille, though, and liked it very much! I gotta say, my favorite Pixar film is Finding Nemo, and then Toy Story, so I end up comparing other animations to those, and they always seem crappy when compared to my favorites! One thing that I noticed is that there weren't any cats around LOL
I guess that would be too much of a cliché!
I liked Happy Feet! I think it was so cute! One animation that I did not like was The Incredibles.
August Rush isn't good? oh my... I guess I'll watch it anyway... I love Keri Russel! =]
I hear Rendition isn't very good, but as a true Gyllenhaalic, I'll just ignore the critics and give it a try!
Anyway, I've added you to my friends and favorites!
