"Portrait of a Girl" is a beautiful image. Initially, it seems to be a simple composition of a girl sitting on a chair. But upon closer inspection, subtleties such as the type of chair, the pose of the girl, the gesture of the feet and the neutral expression of the face, the 'balance' of the leg warmers and finally, the lighting in the scene -- one can appreciate the many considerations which were put in place when you created this work. What inspired you to create a portrait of this particular girl?
Seffen:
The girl is based on a real person, as all the best portraits are. I wanted to create a Vermeer-like atmosphere, but modern in feel, and as always it's partly a technical exercise to test my skills to the limit in lighting, shading and modeling of a photo-real human, which is still not easy even in 2009.
Grandioso trabajo!! la verdad este chavo es muy talentoso.
