Greg, I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgving Holiday here in the USA. Greetings also to all of my Fotolog Friends.
I rememberr as a kid hanging around the railway yards and observing these huge engines idling. It was a shortcut to other parrs of our town to walk along the railway tracks rather thatn on the streets. We actually would climb up on them and look inside and observe the Engineers sound asleep in their seats.
Also working for the railroad was a really good job, with lots of overtime.
Have a great day.
Harry
Charming! I really like this, Greg. And i must say, I am happy I lived to explore many parts of Europe by rail. It is such an interesting thing to do. All the people you meet!!
I read, you have been to Bremerhaven once? Maybe as a soldier in the early 60ies? Come over on the same transport as Elvis??
Wish you a nice first sunday in advent!
hugs, ERwin
A wondeful and melancholic series, Greg! Time is such a bitch! What's the most modern place we can think of right now? Perhaps those cities that are being built in the Middle East, Dubai kind of thing? I can imagine fotologgers of the 22nd century showing their pics (or whatever they're going to be) of those relics...
hugs
