Ta démarche s’est alors tournée vers l’autoportrait?

Réponse de MP :
Oui, ce fut l’autoportrait. J’ai refusé l’abstraction mais j’ai accepté la figuration, elle qui venait de très loin dans le passé, pour lui donner une justification contemporaine. C’est pour cela que pour me reconnaître, j’ai utilisé le miroir et grâce à lui, j’ai pu faire mon autoportrait. On ne peut pas faire d’autoportrait sans miroir. Généralement lorsqu’un artiste fait son autoportrait, il se retrouve seul sur la toile. En ce qui me concerne, ce n’était pas la solitude que je cherchais. C’était un peu contradictoire. A travers mon autoportrait, je cherchais mon rapport au monde…
