Tree Peony

Brother Paul Schwietz OSB planted this tree peony some thirty years ago, but it stopped blooming about twenty-five years ago. Father Geoffrey transplanted it near the fish pond where it is now. For twenty-four years it showed no color there until last year when it finally did bloom again. This season it has had two buds. One has finished blooming, and the other can be seen above. Patience and stability are monastic virtues.
