El Teatro Espontáneo actual encuentra sus raíces en el año 1921 en que Jacob Levi Moreno funda el Teatro de la Espontaneidad.

Posteriormente esta forma teatral se ha ido enriqueciendo con los aportes de personas y formas artísticas en el mundo entero, dando lugar a diversos matices en este teatro, que guardan siemre en común: la improvización, la creación colectiva, el encuentro entre las personas.
