All About Maxine

i admit, i'm like a jealous little sister when i go into maxine's room. when she's not here (and i have the time), i grab a book and sit down on her bed and read.

she has a view of the garden (which, off season, is brown and crunchy anyhow...)

we put some effort into her room, i have to say. she likes pillows and colors and when she saw that ridiculous canopy at ikea, she HAD TO HAVE IT.

well, hm. hmph.

now i pour through furniture catalogues and 'big kid' stores to find a more (ahem) appropriate grown up version of this kinda thing.

they don't really do anything like it. (jeez, why do i care?!?)

nonetheless, now i know when we finally make those trips to india, indonesia, turkey, south africa, egypt and thailand (to which we intend to do in our lifetimes, but maybe not all at once), she will feel right at home.

and i'll keep wandering around that balinese teak furniture store down the way and grumble to myself that mosquito netting is not really a very grown up thing to absolutely NEED to have in Philadelphia.

(grumble grumble)
