That looks sumptuous and expensive. These were lavish places in their day, but they relied on cheap servants and for all their luxuries lacked proper heating, plumbing and wiring. I hope they had a dishwasher.

Yeh they had a dishwasher; her name was Gert and they paid her ten-shillings a year, gave her Christmas Day off every other year and allocated her a damned good thrashing if she didn't work her 14 hour day with a smile on her face ;-)

Oh, have you seen the Angel Of The North and all those other great sculptures?! Great! I would have loved to see it!

... I really would love to have summer back too, we somehow missed it this year but if time flies on so quick it'll be there soon, well at least spring! :O

:) O.K. I understood now!
I know this with the works around the house... look like this morning. I wanted to do garden work but it is soo cold so I stayed a bit longer in the warm kitchen and now it is ten... if I start now I won't be ready because at twelve the stupid Grüngutannahme closes... so I drink another cup of tea... ;))) ... it is still too cold anyway!
