Ana claimed Serbia's first Fed Cup point of 2009, defeating Japanese No.1 Ai Sugiyama 6-4, 6-4 in a hard-fought victory. The 21-year-old played with confidence, especially on the forehand wing, as she overpowered her more experienced opponent.
"It's an amazing feeling," said Ana, who watched the second set of Jankovic's match from the sidelines. "I've never experienced anything like this before, playing in front of my home crowd. They were really supporting us and I'm so thrilled to have a victory.
