Here is the rebuilt statue of Romanelli Fountain. Ironically, the water isn't flowing in it yet, so it doesn't really fit in the series I just finished here. Seeing this though, really made me glad because I supposedly helped make it happen. Over $600,000 dollars were raised by their neighborhood association to restore this historic landmark. Members told me it was my photos that inspired them to start the fund drive and renovations. That felt pretty good. I had no idea that was happening. When I showed up to shoot a few more photos of it one day, these people were all gathered there and welcomed me very warmly. Here's the original images that I posted of the severely damaged Romanelli Fountain back in October of 2003. Vandals had all but destroyed it over the century. Whenever I get really down and think of what a waste of time and effort this f'log is here, I will remember this one thing that made a difference.
